Extreme Home Makeover has Bowling Green Ties

ABC's Extreme Home Makeover team paid a visit to Kentucky to surprise on lucky young man. America saw Patrick Hughes get the gift of a lifetime, but it wouldn't have been possible without the help of a generous Bowling Green business. Becoming part of the team was Clinton Mills with Hitcents here in Bowling Green.

Hitcents & EyeOn Automation Featured on ABC WHAS 11

The technology advances by Hitcents’ and their contributions to ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, featuring the Hughes family of Louisville, Ky, were highlighted by WHAS 11 in Louisville this week.

EyeOn Automation Creates Voice Activated Automation System for ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

EyeOn is typically controlled via remote control, keypad, touch screen, PDA, mobile phone or PC, but EyeOn and ABC decided there had to be a better solution for Patrick Henry Hughes. Customization was nothing new to EyeOn. Each EyeOn system is customized for the customer’s needs so they worked quickly to resolve the issue and get the EyeOn system operating by voice commands.

"Extreme" Leftovers

Hitcents president Chris Mills is responsible for the EyeOn Automation system Patrick's home is equipped with. Chris and his fraternal twin Clinton, 25, came up with the technology that will allow the 19-year-old, who is blind and uses a wheelchair, to give a central computer up to 350 commands, including opening the refrigerator and locking the doors.

Louisville 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' house unveiled to thousands

One of the most amazing aspects of the house is a verbal-command automation system that has been installed in Patrick's portion of the 3,200-square-foot home. It was donated by EyeOn Automation, a division of Hitcents, which is based in Bowling Green, Ky.

ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” recently knocked on the door of University of Louisville marching band member Patrick Henry Hughes and his family. The family’s Louisville home will receive a makeover that will be featured on a future episode of the reality show.

EyeOn Automation donates automation system for ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

EyeOn Automation was called upon to assist with installing special features for the Hughes family of Louisville and has been working diligently to prepare for the home construction. System details can not be revealed at this time, but CEO Clinton Mills states “the EyeOn team is extremely honored to be a part of this worthy cause and is eager to begin our work on the home later this week.”

Chamber unveiling new digs

The technological infrastructure for the new 15,000-square-foot building features high-tech security, surveillance, keyless entry, lighting and climate-control systems based on the Hitcents’ EyeOn software. Because of that, the chamber’s building will have automated conference rooms that include projector screens.

Jackson uses Hitcents' EyeOn technology, which allows him to turn on or off all lights, control temperature and monitor all surveillance cameras from in-office computers or from his home computer. This system will also call the doctor's cell phone if a fire or security alarm activates or a water leak occurs.

BG Chamber building to be equipped with EyeOn Automation

Along with the naming rights to the building, Houchens will have a lobby display featuring a waterfall designed by Hitcents, according to Hitcents President Chris Mills.

Mills' company is writing special software for the waterscreen, since it will also act as an interactive
presentation for visitors.

Hitcents turns eye on digitizing local housing market

With a program that isn’t even two years old, Hitcents.com is using its innovative EyeOn Automation software to make a dozen or so homes in the region technically inclined. More than 10 have already been built in Bowling Green and Russellville, including three houses in Olde Stone off Scottsville Road.
