The Hughes family home isn't the only thing that received an "Extreme Makeover." I think our community got a bit of one too.

As the primary reporter who followed this story from beginning to end, I watched as friendships were built as quickly as the Buechel Bank Road home. I witnessed total strangers ask -- almost beg even -- to help by doing something, anything. And I was there to see businesses cheer one another on and embrace the concept of unity, casting competitiveness aside.
